MEET PETE MAHER
I’m Pete Maher, the owner of ‘The Three Freedoms’ and I’ve long been a passionate about business, in particular small business.
I grew up surrounded by a life in small business; my grandfather owned and operated a menswear store in our Young, a regional town in NSW. My parents owned and operated a Tennis Coaching business servicing Young and surrounding regional centres.
An enthusiastic sports participant, growing up, it wasn’t long before my father identified me as an employee in the making and was thrust into the Tennis Coaching business. It was through Tennis I met my gorgeous wife, Anna. Our children have all participated in Tennis at various levels, so it’s safe to say I owe a lot to Tennis.

​I am a member of CPA Australia, a recognised Accounting body in Australia. I have completed a Bachelor of Accounting, a Diploma in Financial Planning and a Diploma in Mortgage and Finance Broking.
The real magic is in the discipline, it's in your daily routine, it's the commitment to do what you should be doing, and it's entrenched in the foundations of any person or organisation who rises to the top of their game
MY EXPERIENCE
I have over 20 years experience as a Public Practice Accountant in both regional and metropolitan locations. During this time I have been a Partner and Director of these businesses.
I was a commercial/ business banker for one of the Big 4 major banks in Australia
I was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of an Aged Care facility in Canberra for 3 years.
